Godeepteep.com removal from windows 10

  snowyowl 09:46 06 Nov 2018

Hi, For the past month or so when ever I search in the address bar it reroutes to www.godeepteep.com for a split second then goes to google etc. After googling about godeepteep.com it appears that it’s malware, I have followed instructions to delete deepteep from my control panel>uninstall programmes I have also deleted another programme called “zip” that seems to have appeared about the same time. I have deleted both and still it reroutes via godeepteep. I have cleared browsing history/settings etc and nothing comes up when I search extensions through my browser - Microsoft edge. Running on windows 10

Can you help me get rid of godeepteep for good please?

Many thanks for taking the time to read I look forward to your replies

First download Malwarebytes > Download the "Free Trial", it will revert to the "Free Version" if you do not activate at the end of the 14 days > Run it. (I run the free version every week but updates and running require manual activation)

Next Click on Malwarebytes Adware Cleaner > Run it from the Web Page > You do not keep this on your PC.

With luck this will clear your problem

Hi Wee Eddie,

Thank you for your quick response, I have done exactly what you said and scanned my computer with both programmes, both detected a lot of PUP’s. I have quarantined all of the threats and restarted my computer but still when I try searching “godeepteep.com” appears. Is there anything else I could try?

Again thanks again for your help

look for any add ins in your browsers you don't recognise , also look in your browsers to see if the .com you mention is listed as a search engine , if it is right click to delete or disable. how many times did you run Malwarebytes , you may not be aware of this but the things it finds can be made up of several segments so for example you could find 5 items but each item could be made up of several segments. I know from first hand experience that Malwarebytes does not always remove everything on first scan , you must do multiple scans till it finds nothing , the same rule applies to adware cleaner.

Might be worth trying a reset of Edge first. Go to settings, Apps, scroll down to Microsoft Edge. Click on Edge and select Advanced options. Scroll down to the repair tab. See if that works. If that fails then try a reset. You will also have to check other browsers you have installed on your computer.
