It's the New Year and time for some seriously healthy resolutions, and there are some great deals on Fitbit activity trackers! Fitness trackers are super popular, and that's a great sign that these health gadgets are more than just a fad you get bored with; they really work!

New Year's resolutions need motivation over time and a Fitbit will keep you moving throughout the year - as well as sleeping better, staying relaxed and boast many more health benefits.

Fitbits will be the number one choice for many looking to get healthier, through exercise, sport, and better quality sleep. With the run-up to Christmas, now is a good time to buy a Fitbit.

Fitbit's own New Year's sale has finished, but there are still some great deals from other retailers.

Most Fitbit users keep their healthy promises longer thanks to the great mobile app and challenges with friends, colleagues and family. Fitbits have ruled the fitness tracker market for years, and the current tracker line-up is better than ever thanks to the introduction of the company’s first fully fledged smartwatches, the Versa and Ionic.

We check the latest and best Fitbit deals, and can assure you (we've looked!) that there are no better roundups or indeed deals to be found elsewhere. If there's a bargain on Fitbits, it's here.

Hunting out the best Fitbit discounts

There are eight activity trackers in Fitbit’s current range: Flex 2, Alta, Alta HR, Charge 3, Zip (clip-on), Ace (for children) and the Versa and Ionic Fitbit smartwatches. You may also find older models heavily reduced. Their features vary significantly, as do their prices.

You can find bargains on all the Fitbits at several retailers. We've rounded up the best we can find. A few of the best deals are at Fitbit (but not all), so compare all the prices you see on this page.

The cheapest we've seen the top-of-the-range Fitbit Ionic smartwatch is an incredible £199 from Amazon, which is a full £80 off the usual retail price. It's also discounted at John Lewis, where it's from £243 - and then at Argos, where it's £60 off at £219. Argos also has the sporty Adidas Edition Ionic for £239, as does John Lewis.

There aren't as many deals on the smaller but just as able Fitbit Versa (it lacks only the Ionic's built-in GPS but can connect to your phone's GPS), but the best deal is on at Amazon - where you can snap up a Versa for £50 off at just £149! John Lewis is also offering £50 off the Versa, at £149.

On the Fitbit accessory side, the Aria 2 wireless scales that sync with your Fitbit tracker and app are down to £80 at Amazon.

Consider just-discontinued models, too, for bargains. For example, the Charge 3 was released only in October, so the Charge 2 is at the top of the bargains this holiday and Christmas season. The 3 may be newer but the 2 was our top-rated fitness tracker as recently as September, so is well worth considering at a cut-price, and is available in a wide array of colours.

The Charge 2 (regular edition) is available at Amazon for £79, depending on your colour and size choice.

We’ve got a complete guide to choosing the best Fitbit here. Fitbit also has a comparison tool which you can help you decide device is best for you.

It’s worth making a note of how much the Fitbit you’re hoping to buy costs right now, and determining how much you’d like to spend on one now. Here’s a rundown of the current models and their RRPs:
